Where you access the site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it, and “you” means both you and that organisation.
An independent information provider, publishing directories of service providers, family offices and sovereign wealth funds, an events calendar, jurisdiction guides, careers material and the archive of The Alternative Investor.
We are not a law firm, investment adviser, financial adviser or regulated financial services provider. Nothing on the site is legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, investment or other professional advice, and nothing here is an offer, recommendation or solicitation to buy or sell any investment, fund or financial product.
Regulatory and jurisdictional material is compiled from publicly available sources, including official publications issued by regulators and government authorities. We make reasonable efforts to keep content accurate and to verify it against a live source. We do not guarantee it is complete, current or free from error, and you should verify anything you rely on directly with the relevant regulator or authority.
“Verified” on a record means every field in it was confirmed against a public source on the date shown. It is not an endorsement and does not indicate any commercial relationship.

We are not against the technology and we use it ourselves. What we object to is substitution: a system answering a question using our directories, our verification work and our descriptions, without the person asking ever reaching this site.
Read a page with whatever tool you like. Summarise it for yourself. What is not permitted is ingesting this site, or a substantial part of it, into something that then serves other people from what it took. The work of finding, verifying and describing these firms is the product, and a system that repeats it has taken the product rather than referred to it.

Where the site offers registration, you are responsible for the accuracy of what you provide and for activity under your account. We may suspend or close an account used in breach of these terms. Registration for the newsletter is separate from any access tier, and unsubscribing from one does not affect the other.
We link to third-party sites, including those of the firms listed. We are not responsible for their content, and a listing is not an endorsement.
We may block access, suspend or close an account, and take any other step reasonably available to us.
Because the contents of our databases can be copied instantly and without trace, damages alone may not be an adequate remedy for a breach of the restrictions above, and we may seek injunctive relief in addition to any other remedy.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to that, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site, including loss of profit, business, contracts, goodwill or data, and our total liability to you in connection with the site will not exceed £100.

Law and jurisdiction. These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
