Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund

Its statutory mission is to provide prudent stewardship of the savings from Alberta's non-renewable resources by providing the greatest financial returns on those savings for current and future generations of Albertans. From an initial investment of $1.5 billion the fund had grown to $31.9 billion as of December 31, 2025, and the provincial government has set out a plan to reach $250 billion by 2050. Investment is carried out by Alberta Investment Management Corporation, with the Heritage Fund Opportunities Corporation modernising policy toward an actively managed global asset mix.
